Our Parks, Recreation and Culture Department is looking for Stadium Attendants to work at Swangard Stadium and Burnaby Lake Sports Complex West. These positions involve direct set-up and take down of stadium events, facility supervision, assisting stadium user groups by opening and securing the facility, moving and setting up equipment, operating lights and facilitating the use of public address and sound systems as required. Janitorial tasks may be required to keep dressing rooms, washrooms and other areas clean, stocked and in an orderly condition during periods of heavy use. This position also involves providing customer service to the public and problem solving with user groups. As a Stadium Attendant, you may also perform related work as required.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Completion of Grade 12
- Experience in facility operation and special events
- Sound knowledge of set-up procedures and equipment for stadium events
- Working knowledge of regulations governing the layout of a variety of sports field areas
- Ability to enforce rules and regulations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships related to the work
This is an auxiliary position which offers flexible hours. Hours of work per week vary and are dependent on facility bookings.
Pay Rate: $26.25 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits.
