Job Description
We are seeking skilled carpenters to join our team for an exciting new project in Neepawa, Manitoba. As a carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and maintaining structures and fixtures made of wood, steel, concrete, and other materials as required. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented carpenters who possess a passion for carpentry work, enjoy using their problem-solving skills to create beautiful and functional structures, and take pride in transforming design concepts into stunning outcomes. Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Measure, cut, shape, and join materials made of wood, steel, and other materials
- Install structures and fixtures such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim
- Inspect and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure project completion on time and on budget
- Follow safety procedures at all times
Qualifications:
- Must be a certified Journeyperson or an Apprentice
- Experience in rough and finished carpentry
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations
- Excellent mathematical and measuring skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work 10-hour shifts
Compensation:
- Journeyman rate of $39.98 per hour
- Apprentices will be paid a competitive wage based on experience
- Subsistence provided for members living further than 85km from the site
- $0.68 per kilometer for travel to and from the site, when providing own transportation
